PROCEDURE  FACE  MALAR IMPLANT

Malar Implants

Cheek implants are designed to give the appearance of high cheekbones, which will add definition to your face. The surgeon typically makes an incision inside the upper lip or the lower eyelid. He then inserts an implant, made of silicone or another similar synthetic material, into this pocket. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, but patients will be well enough to go home that same day. Although immediately following surgery, your ability to move your mouth and lips may be temporarily weakened, most of the swelling will subside in ten to fourteen days. Stitches usually dissolve in about ten days, while complete recovery usually takes about 2 to 4 weeks.
